Video: The Seven Wonders

"Les 7 Merveilles du Monde" (The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World )
Created by students from Supinfocom Arles

Can you name the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World? If not, this animation can help.

Rather than work collectively on one piece, a group of students from Supinfocom Arles in France created a animation with a small group working on each segment separately, resulting in a stylistically rich montage.

In order presented in the video, the seven wonders are: the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Colossus of Rhodes, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, and the Statue of Zeus at Olympia.

Short Film: Obsolete

"Obsolete" created by Lewis Gray and Esra Guldal of Smoking Robot
"Obsolete tells the story of a robot starting work in a decrepit toy factory. Trapped in the factory all its life it is curious about the outside world, watching a bird through the factory wall each day. When it mistakes a toy on the production line for the bird one day it sets the robots escape in motion."

Absolutely incredible! Weighing in at 5.3 million Lego pieces, this is the world’s largest Lego construct.  It took 32 builders 17,000 man hours to complete, and all I can think it how much fun it's going to be to break it back into pieces.  Right now, it's on display in Times Square for three days to celebrate the upcoming premiere of The Yoda Chronicles on Cartoon Network.  Afterwards, it will be shipped off to the LEGOLand Resort in California.  Read more at Starwars.com.

Design: Ballroom Luminoso

A chandelier of recycled bicycle part, structural steel, custom LED fixtures
Commissioned by the San Antonio Department for Culture and Creative Development
On exhibit at the intersection of Theo and Malone with I-35, San Antonio, Texas.
"Ballroom Luminoso is a series of six brilliantly lit, color changing chandeliers. Drawing from the formal elegance of the freeway underpass and the cultural currents of the surrounding neighborhoods, the piece transforms a forgotten space into one that connects the community."
